On some 2003 model year Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT, and Escalade ESV; Chevrolet Silverado, Avalanche, Tahoe, and Suburban; GMC Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL; and HUMMER H2 vehicles, the passenger door module (PDM) may become inoperative. An inoperative PDM would cause loss of function for the remote keyless entry, front passenger power window, lock, mirror and heated seat functions. Correction Dealers are to reprogram the PDM. Service Procedure Important: The labor time for performing the refresh/reprogram of the passenger door module in this recall is different than the amount of time allowed in Service Bulletin 03-08-52-001B. The labor operation code and time allowance in the service bulletin was for a BCM reprogram, and was not the correct labor operation code for this repair. Inspection Procedure Important: The following inspection must be performed in order to determine the correct repair procedure. 1. Turn the ignition to the ON position. 2. Using the switches in the right front passenger door, verify that the power window and power door lock located in that door, function properly. • If the power window and door locks do NOT function, proceed to the “Refresh and Reprogram” procedure and follow ALL of the steps. • If the power window and door lock function properly, the vehicle only needs to be updated with the new calibration for the passenger door module. Proceed to and follow only steps 4-6 in the “Refresh and Reprogram” procedure. DO NOT PERFORM STEPS 1-3. Refresh and Reprogram Procedure

Condition/Concern: Some customers may comment that they are unable to override the automatic door locking feature. In prior model years, customers were able to select “Doors Lock Manually” from the DIC. However, starting in the 2005 model year, this selection was removed. Recommendation/Instructions: Since the 2005 model year, all BCM’s (Body Control Modules) are programmed from the factory to lock all doors when the transmission is shifted into gear or vehicle speed is greater than 8 mph (13 km/h). There is no option to disable the auto door locks from the factory, but if an owner wishes to have the auto door locks disabled the following procedure can be performed: 1. Use the following procedure to disable the auto door locks on the models listed below: 2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT 2007-2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado (new body style), Suburban, Tahoe 2007-2008 GMC Sierra (new body style), Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali XL Reprogram the BCM with updated calibrations currently available in Tis2Web. In some rare instances, the calibrations may not be available in Tis2Web and Techline Customer Support should be contacted to obtain the calibrations. When at the “Calibration Selection” screen in Tis2Web, select “locking” (should be highlighted in Red) and pick the calibration listed as “(Per Customer Request Only) Auto door locks off, option no longer in DIC”.

Condition General Motors has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2001 model year Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban; GMC Sierra and Yukon XL model vehicles, equipped with an 8.1L V8 (RPO L18 – VIN G) engine. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which the crankshaft position sensor can fail intermittently or permanently. If the sensor fails intermittently, the Service Engine Soon (SES) light may illuminate and the vehicle may run rough. In addition, the engine may stall, and if so, may re-start immediately or after a cool down period. If the sensor fails permanently, the engine will quit running and will not re-start.
